Prepare and deliver testimony on pending legislation before Congressional committees. Research and draft legislative memoranda on federal bills and proposed administrative rules and regulations affecting human rights. Lobby members of Congress and their staff to support human rights positions on pending legislation. Coordinate and conduct in-depth civil liberties briefings for Congressional and Executive Branch staff. Work with national and local media to brief them on legislative and executive branch on human rights priorities. Collaborate with other Legislative Counsels/Lobbyists, Policy Counsels, communications staff, outreach and grassroots organizing staff to brief them on legislative and executive branch. .
